Services available to Concerned Community Members and Family/Friends of Offenders:
OASIS provides Concerned Community Members and Family Members and Friends of Offenders a safe vehicle which allows them to share how you were affected by a crime in your community. Your name is not REQUIRED and SECURITY features are in place to protect all uses.
We also believe that indirect victim’s voices are important and should be elevated to its proper role in the justice process. All parties affected by crime should have the option to share their feelings and how they were impacted.
Community members and offender’s family members and friends now have the option to share their feelings/stories with offenders enrolled in OASIS Victim/Offender Awareness Workshops. These workshops are designed to educate offenders about the real and true cost of crime to members of the community and their families. When posting a message; please DO NOT use IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION such as names, dates or locations. Identifiable information and violence or threats of violence will be deleted. These workshops are conducted throughout Nebraska Correctional Institutions. OASIS Executive Committee will review all information for appropriateness. Follow the step-by-step instructions below.
